FRIDAY 3rd JULY

Dance Festival

Mildenhall College of Technology – 10am to 12 noon
Young Dance Leaders of Mildenhall. Year 2 & 3 pupils will be taught dances with a Lion King theme.

SATURDAY 4th JULY

The Newmarket Town Carnival

The NatWest Rowley Mile Racecourse – Floats and procession leave The Severals,1pm
Floats and parades and a whole host of family fun including live music, dance displays, rides and games down at the NatWest Rowley Mile Racecourse. Courtesy buses will operate between the racecourse and the front of the Hughes Electricals store on the High Street, throughout the afternoon.

Organised by the Forest Heath School Partnership for 11 – 14 year olds from Forest Heath schools.

Rossdales Equine Hospital – Talks & Tour

Rossdales Equine Hospital, Exning – Simon Gibson Room, 5:00pm
Two half hour talks: “What happens at an Equine Hospital and Diagnostics Centre?” by Tim Greet and “The role of the ambulatory vet in equine practice” by Fred Barrelet. Followed by a tour of the hospital with Nick Kelly. Of great interest to 11 – 18 year olds who are considering a career in equine veterinary medicine. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Attendance limited to 36 – please book!

Richard Dunwoody’s 1000 mile challenge — the last mile!

The final mile of Richard Dunwoody’s epic challenge: to match the efforts of Captain Barclay 200 years ago by walking one mile every hour for 1000 hours.

Newmarket Charity In-Hand Horse Show

Animal Health Trust, Lanwades Park, Kentford CB8 7uu – 8:45am to 4pm
An in-hand horse show iwth a ring dedicated to thoroughbreds but all other breeds welcome in the other ring. Foal to veterans welcome as are the thoroughbreds – raced or not. All monies raised go to charity.
